Support the Scene is back and ready to introduce you to some of the amazing local talent we have here, and to reacquaint you with some of your favourites. We have such an incredible music scene here in the GVA, and there are so many amazing artists just waiting for you to check them out. So, after an intensely hot and busy summer, some of our talented local artists found time to answer a few of our questions.

Q: For those who don’t know you, can you please introduce yourself and describe your sound?
My name is Nico Suitor, I have been playing music since I was 12 and have been in a few bands. The way I'd describe my sound is genre bending psychedelic experiences/jungle rock.
Q: What’s one of the biggest successes you’ve had as a musician?
The biggest musician success for me so far has been learning how to navigate the local scenes here, but if you want to narrow it down to an event, playing jazz fest 2 years in a row was a big on for me.
Q: What’s your favourite venue to play?
My favorite venue to play is The Vault, very good crowds of colorful people willing to listen and enjoy music.
Q: What do you think was the best Medium for music to be on? (Vinyl, Tape, CD, Digital)?
I think they were pretty equal as they have highs and lows, vinyl good sound, tape very easy, CD is the most portable and simple. And digital is the most malleable.
Q: Who is your favourite local band to see perform around town?
I love Gorilla Flip, those guys rock really hard, great local thrash punk.
Q: What’s coming up next for your music?
In the future I'm gonna be working with a band I helped create called Ancient City Teahouse Politics, and we're gonna bend some more musical rules and create new things.
